Position Summary

The RN Patient Safety Specialist Sr. builds upon the foundational responsibilities of the Specialist role by assuming advanced leadership duties and driving strategic safety initiatives. This position serves as a subject matter expert and mentor, providing guidance to staff and leading system-wide patient safety efforts. The Specialist Senior works closely with leadership to shape policies, enhance safety culture, and achieve Zero Harm objectives.

Work Location: St. Petersburg, FL

Work Hours: M-F (8a-4:30p)

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business, nursing or healthcare related field (or in the process of obtaining Master’s degree) with a BSN in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse
  • 5 years clinical experience in a pediatric acute-care setting
  • 5 years of patient safety or related experience
  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), Lean Certification, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, other ASQ certification, or other related certification (or in the process of obtaining certification)
  • Demonstrates ability to lead, influence, and drive safety improvements across an organization while fostering a culture of safety
  • Proven application of patient safety science, principles of High Reliability Organizations, and Just Culture
  • Prioritize in an ever-changing environment
  • Excellent and effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Establish facilitation, teaching, presentation prioritization and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in MS Office Suite

Salary Range Minimum $40.95/hour - Maximum $63.46/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
