Physician - Division Chief Pulmonology

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Pulmonology Program has an excellent opportunity for a Division Chief. The Chief will lead the division’s clinical and educational services to our growing Pediatric Pulmonology and Cystic Fibrosis programs.

Clinical and Leadership Responsibilities

• Clinical Leadership: Leads a team of 5 Pediatric Pulmonologists and 2 APRNs (and the team is growing). Provides strategic leadership in clinical practice—setting vision, guiding best practices, ensuring high‑quality patient care.
• Program Growth: Expands and further develops both the pediatric pulmonary and cystic fibrosis programs. Builds relationships with community pediatricians, researchers, and healthcare professionals. Responsible for resource allocation.
• Educational Component: Teaches residents, fellows, and other medical professionals. Shapes the next generation of pediatric pulmonologists. Provides mentorship and guidance to trainees.
• Academic Collaboration: Publishes academic work, collaborates with other experts, and contributes to advancements in pediatric pulmonology research.
• Cystic Fibrosis Focus: Oversees the Cystic Fibrosis Care Center, maintaining accreditation standards, overseeing clinical protocols, patient support, and the latest treatments.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Works with specialists such as nutrition, social work, physical therapy, and others to provide holistic care for children with CF.
• Research and Clinical Trials: Leads clinical research or trials in cystic fibrosis.
• Team Dynamics and Culture: Fosters an environment of mutual respect and collaboration. Requires strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications and Preparation

• Board Certification in Pediatric Pulmonology.
• Leadership Experience: Proven experience as Assistant or Associate Division Chief, program director, or director of a specialized pediatric care unit.
• Academic Credentials: Experience teaching, mentoring, or conducting research in pediatric pulmonology or cystic fibrosis settings.
• Strong Communication Skills.
