With more than half of the 259 beds in our teaching hospital devoted to intensive care level services, we are the regional pediatric referral center for Florida’s west coast. Physicians and community hospitals count on us to care for critically ill patients and perform complex surgical procedures.
Position Summary
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs direct patient care tasks under the direction of the Registered Nurse and performs various tasks as competency documentation designates. Work occasionally requires internal contacts outside the work group to exchange relevant information. Communication with external contacts involves providing or giving factual information.
Education / Experience
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma.
- One year of clinical experience is required or successful completion of the intern program.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, Medical Assistant (MA) certification, or one of the following:
- A nursing student or LPN who has completed fundamental nursing skills coursework.
- An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
- BLS certification provided by AHA.
Salary Range Minimum $17.37/hour – Maximum $26.91/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
