Join our team in a dynamic leadership role supporting hospital-wide operations and patient care. The Nurse Coordinator serves as a key resource across inpatient and outpatient areas, providing real‑time clinical and operational oversight during assigned shifts. In this role, you will collaborate with nursing leaders, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe staffing, patient flow, and high‑quality care delivery. You’ll respond to clinical and operational escalations, support frontline teams, and help drive efficient, patient‑centered outcomes across the organization. This position is ideal for an experienced RN who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrates strong clinical judgment, and is passionate about supporting teams and leading through influence.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates daily nursing operations, including assignment of staff, patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to maintain appropriate staffing levels and patient coverage.
- Serves as a clinical resource and point of escalation for complex patient care issues; provides guidance and support to nursing staff.
- Monitors patient care quality and safety indicators; participates in root‑cause analyses and implements corrective actions.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, case managers, therapists, social workers) to facilitate care coordination and discharge planning.
- Assists with the development and implementation of nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participates in staffing planning, scheduling, and float pool coordination to optimize coverage and control labor costs.
- Maintains documentation related to patient care, staffing, and quality measures; prepares reports for management.
- Promotes a culture of patient‑centered care, teamwork, and professional development.
Shifts: 12 hours nights (36 hours per week)
Work location: St. Petersburg, Florida
Who Should Apply:
- BSN from an accredited School of Nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
- Florida State or Compact License required
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse
- BLS certification provided by AHA
Salary Range: Minimum 46.39/hour - Maximum 71.91/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
