Position Summary
- Sonographer I: entry-level sonographer focused on developing knowledge and skills. Guides by policy and task completion, completes unit-specific Advanced Beginner Clinical Pathway. Minimum: high school diploma or equivalent, current BLS certification (AHA). Specialty registry through ARDMS or CCI eligible. English reading, writing, speaking required.
- Sonographer II: demonstrates expanding knowledge in diagnostic testing for specific patient populations. Applies clinical reasoning, problem solves testing modalities, completes unit-specific Competent Clinical Pathway. Requirements: graduate of an approved diagnostic medical sonography program, minimum one-year experience (additional experience or credentials may substitute education). Specialty registry through ARDMS or CCI and current BLS certification required. English proficiency required.
- Sonographer III: advanced knowledge and skills in diagnostic testing. Integrates multi-system implications, anticipatory observation, interdisciplinary collaboration. Requirements: graduate of an approved diagnostic medical sonography program, minimum five years’ experience (additional experience or credentials may substitute education). Specialty registry through ARDMS or CCI, current BLS certification required. Dual registries preferred. English proficiency required.
Shift and Travel: Full-time, day shift with on-call duties, including weeknights and weekends. This position is based at the main campus hospital and outpatient care center in Saint Petersburg, FL. Occasional travel to additional outpatient centers in the region (30-45 minutes from the main campus) is required; travel time and mileage will be compensated separately.
Salary Range: Minimum $33.70/hour – maximum $65.24/hour. Compensation is commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
