Position Summary
Coordinates the prior authorization and/or patient assistance program process for medications to ensure timely and appropriate patient access to prescribed therapies. Collaborates with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to gather necessary documentation and information. Analyzes and reviews prior authorization and/or patient assistance program requests to ensure compliance with insurance guidelines and hospital policies. Engages in continuous process improvement to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent required.
- Completion of an ASHP/ACPE accredited pharmacy technician training program preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in pharmacy, medical billing, and/or insurance verification required.
- One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience or one year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of education.
- PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician required.
- PHAR-C – Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) certification required.
Tour Our Campus
Hours: Full-time (40 hours) Monday – Friday, 8am - 4:30pm. No holiday or weekend work requirement.
Location: Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL
Salary Range: Minimum 17.97/hour - Maximum 28.74/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
