Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is a premier clinical and academic health system, providing expert pediatric care for infants, children, and teens with some of the most challenging medical problems. Ranked in multiple specialties by U.S. News & World Report, we provide access to innovative treatments and therapies. With more than half of the 259 beds in our teaching hospital devoted to intensive care level services, we are the regional pediatric referral center for Florida's West Coast. Physicians and community hospitals count on us to care for critically ill patients and perform complex surgical procedures.

The LifeLine Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing quality respiratory care to our patients, including routine and complex procedures, using a wide variety of techniques and equipment. Collaborates care with the multidisciplinary team and communicates effectively with others. Ensures that patient care meets the quality standards established by the hospital, department, and regulatory agencies. Is accountable for maintaining all skills and knowledge necessary to provide safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate respiratory care to all ages of patients from neonate to adolescent. Along with other members of the care team, is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high standards of care provided by JHACH.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapist required, BS preferred.
  • Current Florida Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NRBC).
  • Must be a graduate of a Registered Respiratory Therapy Program approved by the Commission of Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Current PALS certification from the American Heart Association or must be obtained within 120-day orientation period.
  • Current NRP certification if working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a clinical setting.
  • Minimum of 2000 hours caring for Level II or III neonatal patients as defined by Florida Rule 64J-1.006.
