Full-time rotating 12 hour shifts plus clinic time. Prefer pediatric experience and NP's must have pediatric acute care certification. We are seeking a Pediatric Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team. This role will focus primarily on inpatient and outpatient care, including rounding, performing bedside procedures, completing histories and physicals, managing consults, and coordinating admissions and discharges. There will be minimal operating room responsibilities.

With more than half of the 259 beds in our teaching hospital devoted to intensive care level services, we are the regional pediatric referral center for Florida's west coast. Physicians and community hospitals count on us to care for critically ill patients and perform complex surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat pediatric surgical patients.
  • Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate evidence‐based treatment plans.
  • Provide family‐centered care by effectively communicating with patients' families, addressing their concerns, and involving them in the decision‐making process.
  • Participate in medical rounds, case presentations, and educational activities to enhance team knowledge and clinical practice.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and research projects to advance pediatric surgery practices.
  • The APRN or PA demonstrates understanding of internal and external APRN or PA practice rules, regulations and legislation to maintain compliance and certification.
  • Serves as an advocate for the needs of the patients across the health care continuum ensuring the best patient and family experience and to advance pediatric health throughout the community we serve.
  • Integrates ethical principles in decision making.

Qualifications:

  • Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC) or Physician Assistant (PA) certification and licensure in the state of Florida.
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Pediatric Acute Care Nursing (PNP-AC) or Physician Assistant Studies (PA) from an accredited program.
  • Current BLS and PALS.
  • Pediatric acute care experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in pediatric surgery or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem‐solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Salary Range: Minimum $52.02/hour - Maximum $80.63/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
