The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is a 22-bed unit that provides highly specialized care for patients of all acuity levels and ages, from newborns to adults.

The CVICU cares for both medical and surgical patients with congenital and acquired heart disease, supporting them throughout their hospital journey from admission to discharge.

Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered critical care across the full spectrum of cardiovascular conditions.

In 2024, the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit received the Gold Level Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).

This prestigious recognition honors critical care units that demonstrate exceptional patient care, positive outcomes, and a commitment to nursing excellence, serving as role models for healthcare teams nationwide.

Qualifications

  • BSN from an accredited School of Nursing, preferred. Applicants with an Associate Degree in nursing will be considered and must obtain BSN within 36 months of hire
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Required. Florida State or Compact License required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse, preferred 2 years of experience
  • Experience in pediatric CVICU preferred
  • BLS certification provided by AHA
