Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate provision of medications according to established standards of practice.

The role coordinates technician‑defined activities such as unit dose distribution, IV admixture compounding, purchasing, controlled substances, OR drug preparation, pharmacy automation, investigational drug services, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervision, scheduling, payroll maintenance, administration of disciplinary action, and evaluation of technical personnel under the direction of the Pharmacy Director and/or Inpatient Manager.
  • Participate in recruitment activities and hiring decisions; coordinate training and provide in‑service training in specialty areas.
  • Initiate performance improvement activities to increase the scope and quality of pharmacy services and customer service.
  • Perform technician duties when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. If no Bachelor’s degree, a high school diploma and eight years of equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience; previous supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Florida.
  • Analytical ability to solve problems, diagnose equipment issues, and correct potential errors. Excellent prioritization, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
