36 hours/week; benefitted 12-hour shift 7a- 7:30p. Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is a premiere clinical and academic health system, providing expert pediatric care for infants, children and teens with some of the most challenging medical problems. Ranked in multiple specialties by U.S. News & World Report, we provide access to innovative treatments and therapies. With more than half of the 259 beds in our teaching hospital devoted to intensive care level services, we are the regional pediatric referral center for Florida's west coast. Physicians and community hospitals count on us to care for critically ill patients and perform complex surgical procedures.
The CVICU is a 22-bed unit, serving patients of all acuity levels and ages. The cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) provides specialized care to medical and surgical patients with congenital and acquired heart disease. Our multidisciplinary team cares for patients ranging in age from newborn to adulthood across the spectrum of their hospital course, as an admission to discharge unit.
Position Summary: The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs direct patient care tasks under the direction of the Registered Nurse and performs various tasks as competency documentation designates. Work occasionally requires internal contacts outside the work group to exchange relevant information. Communication with external contacts involves providing or giving factual information.
Education/Experience: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma. One year of clinical experience is required or successful completion of the intern program.
Qualifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, Medical Assistant (MA) certification, or one of the following: A nursing student or LPN who has completed fundamental nursing skills coursework, An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification, BLS certification provided by AHA.
Salary Range: Minimum 17.37/hour - Maximum 26.91/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
