John Cotton Group is a family company established in 1916 with a strong traditional British heritage based in the heart of West Yorkshire. With an annual group turnover in excess of £250 million, the group employs over 1300 people and operates across the globe in the UK and Continental Europe, Asia and Australia. The Performance Packaging Division is based at Ossett developing and manufacturing the most innovative and sustainable packaging solutions suitable for the transportation of chilled and frozen items such as food and pharmaceuticals.
Due to continued expansion, we now require two competent machine cell operatives to fill new positions at our Performance Packaging Division. These positions will report into the Manufacturing Leaders.
Key Objectives:
- Operate/monitor the machine during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
- Operating the machine in accordance with the established procedures and guidelines, ensuring all health, safety and housekeeping requirements are met for the machines.
- Perform periodic checks on the equipment and solve problems as they arise.
- Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot on the machine to make sure it functions correctly and efficiently including performing preventative maintenance.
- Communicate with other team members to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
- Ensure the machine achieves its targeted production output while ensuring quality is maintained and all quality control standards followed.
- Follow Continuous Improvement and modern Manufacturing principles.
- Complete daily reports of quality control, production numbers, safety, and other reports as needed.
- Escalate issues where necessary to the Manufacturing Leader.
- Maintain a safe, professional, and organised work environment.
- Achieve machine production targets and goals.
- Verify adequate materials are available to complete operations as needed.
