Trainee Assistant Production Manager Linwoods is a leading manufacturer and supplier of healthy food products and ingredients. Recognised as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026, we are seekinga motivated and well-organised Trainee Assistant Production Manager to support the day-to-day running of our factory. Monday to Friday (Full-Time-10.00pm-18.00pm) This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is ready to develop their career in production management. You will gain hands-on experience in production planning, people management, quality, stock control, health and safety, continuous improvement, ERP systems and production administration.
Key Responsibilities
Support the efficient day-to-day running of the factory. Organise production staff and resources to ensure production requirements are met. Learn to use and work confidently with the companys ERP/Quality system. Use the ERP/Quality system to accurately record production activity, intakes, traceability information and production outputs. Work closely with the Quality department on testing, product quality and other relevant matters. Assist with continuous improvement and lean management initiatives.
Ensure operatives complete all required paperwork and routine checks accurately. Identify, report and help resolve discrepancies within production processes and system records. Support operatives with all system queries. Check that all processes and records are accurate before signing off production and posting outputs. Assist with staff training, development and day-to-day people-management activities. Support the maintenance of high standards of health and safety, quality and hygiene throughout the factory.
About You
You will be organised, reliable and keen to develop a career in production management. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced food-production environment, communicating effectively with colleagues across production, quality and maintenance team, and using computer-based systems. Essential Requirements Degree in food, production or other related subject Previous experience working in a food-production environment. Experience at a minimum supervisory level within a production setting.
Some experience of supervising, supporting and managing people. Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving. A commitment to high standards of health and safety, quality and traceability. Confidence using computer-based systems and completing accurate production records. Experience using an ERP or production-management system would be an advantage; however, full training will be provided.
