During the summer holidays, Whitgift runs its own summer school for international students, utilising all its fantastic facilities and modern boarding house. Whitgift Summer School, with its innovative and exciting English language and academic courses, along with activities which involve English speaking students, is designed to appeal to girls and boys aged 11-17 from all over the world.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Computer Science Teacher to teach one of the elements within our Digital Champions course. The role requires a subject specialist in Computer Science for our 2026 summer school. Successful applicants should have a passion for teaching, an imaginative and creative approach, and a focus on student‑centred learning. They will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons using up-to-date resources.
Qualifications:- University degree and a well‑qualified teacher (PGCE or equivalent)
- Experience teaching in their specialist field
- Experience teaching in a summer school context is particularly welcome
- High standard of professionalism, ability to work at a fast pace, and cope efficiently with record keeping and other administrative duties
- High level of competence in spoken and written English
- Present evidence of right to work in the UK for the duration of the contract
Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening including checks with past employers, the Disclosure & Barring Service and online media checks (including personal, professional and other online activities). All roles within the school involve contact with children and are therefore classed as regulated activity. Child protection and safeguarding are the responsibility of everyone who works or volunteers in our school. All staff must be committed to providing a safe environment for children and supporting the school's safeguarding ethos.
