Do you want a job where you can really make a difference? We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the John Whitgift Foundation as a Bank Independent Living Warden. Based in Croydon, Whitgift Almshouses and Whitgift House sheltered housing provide older people with a safe, open, and supportive setting that promotes independence, wellbeing, and a strong sense of community.
The role
The Warden is responsible for supporting the independent living manager in the operational management of the Foundation’s sheltered housing at Whitgift House & Almshouses. The purpose of this role is to support our residents to live as independently as possible, working closely with community services. This will involve navigating and steering residents to community organisations to ensure they are receiving the care they require and are entitled to through community services.
About You
- Ideally you will have experience of working with older people in the community.
- A willingness to learn and apply that learning.
- A great communicator, able to mediate and reach solutions.
- The ability to manage a diverse workload, prioritising and working to deadlines.
- Can work autonomously as well as part of a team.
- Commitment to follow the code of conduct for social care workers and to be governed by its principles in practice.
