We’re looking for an organised, proactive Transport Coordinator to play a central role in keeping vehicles moving smoothly across the John Grose Group. This is a varied, hands‑on operational role where you’ll coordinate vehicle movements between our sites and customers, support driver resourcing and compliance, and work closely with colleagues across transport, preparation, sales, and service. You’ll be a key point of contact, helping ensure vehicles are delivered safely, on time, and to John Grose standards. If you enjoy juggling priorities, solving problems, and working with people across a business, this role offers visibility, variety, and the chance to make a real day‑to‑day impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Vehicle Movements & Logistics
    • Coordinate vehicle movements between John Grose sites in Ipswich, Woodbridge, and Lowestoft.
    • Schedule and organise driven vehicle deliveries to customers.
    • Work closely with site teams to ensure transport activity runs smoothly day to day.
  • Driver Resourcing & Planning
    • Manage “as and when” driver resources to meet business needs.
    • Build and maintain driver diaries, confirming availability with casual and ad‑hoc drivers.
    • Allocate drivers efficiently, balancing operational requirements and delivery timings.
  • Compliance & Transport Support
    • Support compliance with Operator Licence (O‑Licence) requirements and company policies.
    • Assist with monitoring Driver CPC compliance.
    • Help ensure vehicles are roadworthy, safe, and maintained in line with standards.
  • Vehicle Preparation & Contractor Coordination
    • Work with the Preparation Administrator to arrange external preparation work when required.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure vehicles are prepared on time.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Support
    • Act as a central point of contact between drivers, transport, preparation, sales, service, and contractors.
    • Communicate clearly and professionally to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

About You

You don’t need to tick every box — we’re more interested in how you work than where you’ve worked before. You’ll likely enjoy this role if you:

  • Are highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Communicate confidently with a wide range of people.
  • Take a practical, solutions‑focused approach to challenges.
  • Pay close attention to detail and follow processes accurately.
  • Are confident using IT systems and handling administrative tasks.
  • Are flexible, approachable, and enjoy working as part of a team.

Experience in transport, logistics, or compliance is helpful but not essential. We welcome applicants with transferable skills from operations, administration, coordination, or customer‑focused roles.

Working Hours

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Working hours between 7:30am and 4:30pm, including a 1‑hour lunch break.
  • Some flexibility may be required to meet business and operational needs.

Why Apply?

  • Be at the heart of the operation – You’ll play a key role in keeping vehicles moving smoothly across the John Grose Group, with real day‑to‑day impact.
  • Variety every day – This isn’t a desk‑only role. You’ll work across transport, preparation, sales, service, and external partners, so no two days are the same.
  • People‑focused role – If you enjoy working with drivers, colleagues, and customers, you’ll thrive in this highly collaborative position.
  • Supportive team environment – You’ll be trusted to do your job, supported by experienced colleagues, and encouraged to contribute ideas and improvements.
  • Transferable skills welcome – Previous transport experience is helpful but not essential; strong organisation, communication, and initiative matter most.
  • Clear structure and work‑life balance – Full‑time, Monday–Friday hours with a consistent schedule and some flexibility when needed.
  • Opportunity to grow – Gain exposure across a multi‑site automotive group and build valuable operational and coordination experience.

What We Offer

  • Company pension scheme.
  • Staff discount for both sales and service.
  • Manufacturer accredited training.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
