We are expanding our team and are looking for an experienced Assistant Service Manager to join our busy and fast‑paced Service Department.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

About the Role

As an Assistant Service Manager, you will support the daily operations of the Service Department, ensuring high standards of customer care, efficiency, and profitability.

You will work closely with Technicians, Service Advisors, and other departments to keep workflow smooth and productive.

This role operates Monday to Saturday on a shift‑rota basis to effectively supervise and support the running of the Service Department.

Working hours can be flexible, although core busy periods must be fully covered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Service Manager to complete department tasks.
  • Coordinate with Technicians, Service Advisors, Parts, and the Sales Teams.
  • Train, support, and develop all Service staff.
  • Monitor work in progress and highlight any issues to management.
  • Manage cash and account transactions, raising concerns where necessary.
  • Ensure all service paperwork, systems, and invoices are accurate and completed on time.
  • Maximise Aftersales profitability through effective up‑selling of products and services.
  • Maintain manufacturer training standards for yourself and the team.
  • Achieve and exceed franchise customer satisfaction targets.
  • Support the efficient daily running of the Service Department in line with company and manufacturer policy.
  • Attend Manufacturer training as required.
  • Promote a positive culture of Health and Safety

About You

  • Strong communication skills with a positive, proactive approach.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced service or experience in a similar environment.
  • Proven and current team leadership skills, with a track record of developing, supporting, and training staff to achieve high performance.
  • Technical knowledge is beneficial but not essential; a commitment to ongoing development is required.
  • Good levels of English, Maths, and IT literacy
  • Full UK driving licence.

Working hours

Average 45 hrs per week, between the hours of 07:30 to 18:00 Monday to Friday and Saturdays on a rota system as required.
