Based in Manchester and Liverpool, we operate nationwide, supporting construction, infrastructure, and high-profile projects with state-of-the-art equipment and expert teams. As demand grows, we're expanding our transport division with professional and reliable Class 1 Haulage Drivers.
We are seeking experienced and qualified Class 1 (C+E) HGV Drivers to join our transport team. This role involves delivering and collecting heavy plant and crane components across the UK, with a focus on safety, punctuality, and exceptional service. Experience with abnormal loads and securing heavy equipment is preferred. Applicants must have proven experience transporting crane ballast and counterweights. This is a specialist role, and we’re looking for a driver who can support the expanding and technical needs of our business.
The person must have the ability to drive John Sutch Cranes plant and vehicles as well as haulage.
Key Responsibilities- Proven experience in driving crane ballast and counterweights
- Ensure safe loading, securing, and unloading of goods
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle checks and report any issues
- Maintain accurate delivery records and compliance with tachograph regulations
- Work closely with our lifting and logistics teams for smooth site coordination
- Represent the company professionally at all times
- Full UK Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Experience with heavy haulage or plant transport is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of load securing and driving regulations
- Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Commitment to safety and compliance
