Quality Control Operative

Play a pivotal role in bringing 240 years of British knitwear heritage to life online.

John Smedley is the worlds oldest manufacturing factory, proudly crafting the finest knitwear in the heart of England since 1784. Our heritage, craftsmanship, and commitment to quality have made us iconic worldwide. We are now looking for a Quality Control Operative to join our team at Lea Mills and help us continue delivering products of the highest standards.

What Youll Do:

Youll play an important part in our quality assurance process. Youll be responsible for booking in work, sewing back neck labels to customer requirements, and ensuring garments meet our exacting standards before they reach our customers.

Book in garments through our production system and check work tickets against requirements.

Sew the correct back neck labels into garments, ensuring accuracy for each customer.

Carry out stitching and label checks throughout the production process.

Support colleagues across the Quality team to maintain workflow and high standards.

Work to agreed daily and weekly outputs while ensuring on-time delivery.
