Are you organised, detail-focused, and enjoy hands-on work in a production environment? At John Smedley, we have been crafting the world's finest knitwear for over two centuries. Every stage of our production process is vital and our Seaming Room team plays a key role in ensuring each garment is prepared, processed, and finished to the highest standard.
We are looking for a Seaming Room Operative / Production Operative to join our manufacturing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a structured, process-driven environment and takes pride in accuracy and quality. Full training will be provided.
What You’ll Do:
- Receive trimmings and store them correctly until required for production.
- Move cages of work from previous processes and scan works tickets accurately.
- Check works tickets to ensure all required trimmings are available before pairing with garments.
- Weigh garments and trimmings, then scan and log weights correctly.
- Prepare and pass work through to the Wash department, separating by gauge and fibre type.
- Support other areas of production during quieter periods.
- Maintain an organised, clean, and efficient working environment.
