At John Smedley, weve been making the worlds finest knitwear since 1784. Were now looking for a Knitwear Production Specialist (Linker) to join our team and help us continue this tradition of craftsmanship.

Whats the Role?

This role is all about the finishing touches bringing together the separate panels of our garments (such as sleeves, collars, and trims) to create a perfectly made piece of knitwear. Youll use a specialist linking machine to join pieces together with precision and care.

Dont worry if you havent used a linking machine before well provide full training. If youve worked in sewing, tailoring, textiles, or any hands-on craft where attention to detail is key, youll have the skills to succeed.

What Youll Do:

  • Join together knitted garment panels with care and accuracy

  • Make sure every stitch is neat, even, and finished to the highest standard

  • Match colours and threads with a sharp eye for detail

  • Support production targets while maintaining quality

  • Work closely with a team of skilled makers who share pride in their craft
