The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

The Design Manager will be responsible for co-ordinating the design elements and interfaces of specific tasks or projects depending on size and complexity. They will fully understand and manage the design requirements of the tender/project ensuring that the design is delivered in line with the programme requirements and is of a quality that reflects the budget constraints. The Design Manager will report to the Project lead or Senior Design Manager depending on the size and complexity of the project.

The duties will include:

  • Being responsible for the daily management of the consultants, specialists or suppliers, ensuring co-ordination between all interested parties while ensuring that all statutory design considerations are adhered to.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of ‘design’ related items within the tender bid process.
  • Have input into the selection of the design team.
  • Manage and assist the Design Co-ordinator during the construction.
  • Act as mentor/advisor to Design Co-ordinator during the construction phase.
  • Manage design consultants and sub consultants along with design sub-contractors to ensure correct and timely delivery of all design related information for the execution of the works on site.
  • Liaise with the M&E Co-ordinator to ensure compatibility of building and services.
  • Report on the design in line with cost meetings.

Experience:

  • Understand the different Client procurement routes.
  • Experience of working and supporting the pre-construction stage.
  • Understanding of various forms of Contract.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Good working knowledge of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures and CDM.
  • Be able to use Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/BIM/Cad and View Point for Projects (4Projects).

  • Degree in Construction or Design related role.
  • Programming software.
  • Breem.
  • Building Regs.
