Overview

The Business Unit Information Manager (BU IM) is responsible for leading and governing digital Information Management across a specific business unit, ensuring that data and documentation practices align with company standards, industry regulations, and ISO 19650 principles.

This role acts as the key interface between project-level Information Coordinators and the department, ensuring consistent, efficient, and compliant delivery of information throughout the project lifecycle.

The Business Unit Information Manager works closely with the Information Management, DPD, and Design Management leadership teams to ensure consistent alignment and strategies.

They partner with projects to set them up for success from the outset and maintain performance throughout the project lifecycle.

They provide technical support and input to work-winning teams and represent the IM function in the work-winning process and external stakeholder forums.

BU IM Managers oversee the effective implementation of digital platforms in the BU, auditing projects for compliance and alignment to the contract.

They provide line management support for their team of IM Coordinators, Snr IM Coordinators, etc.

BU IM Managers work closely with the Information Management and Digital Integration Lead to develop new digital solutions, review emerging platforms, and provide additional support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of Sisk’s digital platforms and procedures across the Business Unit, supply chain, and client teams.
  • Establish the Information Management platform (e.g., Dalux) and other digital platforms at project award.
  • Develop project-specific procedures and ensure their implementation.
  • Provide hands-on support to internal stakeholders and supply chain at the Business Unit level.
  • Participate in tender handover and project start-up meetings to facilitate knowledge transfer and information setup.
  • Develop and maintain strong networks within the business to promote a positive Information Management culture.
  • Create bulletins and communication content.
  • Develop the team according to learning & development policies, including the PDP cycle.
  • Assess team skills, identify development needs, and implement PIPs as necessary.
  • Encourage continuous professional development (CPD) among team members.
  • Support job role creation, candidate review, interviewing, and feedback.
  • Manage task assignment and prioritization, setting goals and conducting reviews.
  • Maintain awareness of legal and contractual requirements relevant to the role.
  • Anticipate stakeholder conflicts, identify root causes, and develop resolution strategies.
  • Develop personal skills aligned with learning policies and PDP.
  • Understand and deliver training on standards and expectations.
  • Communicate changes in Information Management processes effectively to all stakeholders.
