The UK Build North Business is looking for Quantity Surveyors to join the team. We have positions available on a large Build scheme in Manchester. Working alongside the Project Director, the role will be working within & assisting the commercial & construction team to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships, maximising commercial returns and managing risk. The team are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to make a step up to Senior Quantity Surveyor in the near future. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing tenders, analysing, selecting appropriate sub-contractors, negotiation & finalising sub-contract orders, financial & commercial management of sub-contracts to Final Account completion.
  • Managing and reporting of forecasts, targets, reconciliations, site records, document control, variation reporting, valuations, assisting in the site records & document control.
  • Liaise with & commercially influence / challenge site management team whilst maintaining & protecting JSS commercial & contractual entitlement.
  • Manage & oversee Assistant Quantity Surveyors & Trainee Quantity Surveyors, checking & taking responsibility for their work & sign-off SMM / measurement issues.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in build projects.
  • Experience working on large Hospital / Health care schemes (ideal for one of the projects).
  • A relevant 3rd level qualification.
  • Experience in report writing, forecast planning and engaging with clients and senior leaders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
