Permanent position at 10 Sunnyside, Edinburgh, EH7 5RA. Work week Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. Salary £23,500 – £25,500 pa.

What the job involves for a Licensing Property Relationship Manager:

  • Support the HMO team manager to deliver the objectives of the department.
  • Drive a high level of standard when working through all HMO processes.
  • Ensure all compliance and regulations are followed in the required time.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in all aspects of the business.
  • Maintain client relationships and co‑ordinate/communicate key aspects of property management to the client.
  • Assist with admin of the role which involves displaying/removing site notices, neighbourhood notices, processing Fire risk assessments received and addressing any issues with tenants and landlords.
  • Raise jobs specifically for HMO properties and liaise with contractors to ensure the works are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Understand application requirements (certificate continuity etc.), process and how to submit applications across the DJ Alexander portfolio.
  • Learn physical standards required within HMO properties from a property manager perspective.
  • Undertake pre‑application inspections and report to landlord.
  • Develop detailed awareness of HMO regulations and how they are applied to HMO property.
  • Ensure all compliance aspects for the HMO licence are met.
  • Communicate effectively with landlords, contractors, PMs and local authorities positively.
  • Cover HMO inspections with HMO/Fire Officers and create reports if required.
  • Understand ASB legislation and how it can and does affect HMO Licences.
  • Address these issues with tenants.
  • Become an HMO specialist and confident in your knowledge – important for attending a sub‑licensing committee hearing.
  • Conduct an HMO survey, draw floor plans, advise landlords in detail on what is required for a property to obtain an HMO licence depending on circumstance (conversion, sale, change of owner, new licence or renewal).
  • Ensure the correct cover is in place for the HMO 24hr contact phone and address any issues that require it.
  • Work collaboratively with other colleagues in other departments, offering support, working on joint projects and working together to achieve business objectives.

We’re looking for individuals with qualities such as:

  • Current UK driving licence holder.
  • Ideally at least 1 year’s Property Management experience (not essential, preferable).
  • Strong administration and organisational skills.
  • Current legal right to work in the UK.
