East Surrey College and John Ruskin College are seeking a number of Porters to join our team and play a key role in the smooth running of our campuses. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your contributions will make a real difference.
In this rewarding role, you will assist with setting up and dismantling furniture and equipment for college events whilst monitoring and reporting any maintenance issues to the facilities team. You will work with other staff members and contractors to ensure the college is clean, safe and welcoming. Whilst it is essential to provide support to the college with the setup of events, you will also provide support to students and staff as needed. The Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of the college's facilities.
This is a full-time role done on a rota basis; the current shifts are 07:00‑15:00, 08:00‑16:00, 10:00‑18:00 and 14:00‑22:00.
The Successful Candidate Must Have:
- Previous experience in a caretaker or similar Porter or Facilities role
- Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
- Basic knowledge of using online systems and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent (achieved or willing to obtain)
- Qualified driver with a clean driving licence certified to drive Group D1 vehicles is desirable
