Reporting to: Director of Systems and Innovation
We are looking for an IT Project Manager with strong technical expertise in servers, networks and desktop systems to support and develop the College Group's technology infrastructure. This role combines project management with technical leadership, focusing on delivering new software projects while ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of IT systems. You will work closely with departments across the organisation to implement solutions that support teaching, learning and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver IT and software projects across the College Group.
- Work with departments to identify technology needs and implement solutions.
- Oversee the maintenance, monitoring and optimisation of IT infrastructure.
- Manage project timelines, resources and deliverables.
- Ensure security, compliance and data protection standards are maintained.
- Maintain software and hardware inventories and licensing records.
- Work with the Managed Service Provider to ensure reliable backups and network performance.
- Provide technical leadership and support to the John Ruskin College IT team.
- Report progress and elevate issues to the Director of Systems and Innovation.
The Successful Candidate Must Have
- Experience delivering IT projects and software implementations.
- Strong technical knowledge of networks, servers and desktop environments.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive, handsâon approach to solving technical challenges.
- MCSE qualification or equivalent.
- Computer based degree or equivalent in computer engineering or relevant field.
- Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent.
