John Rankin Schools are seeking to appoint After School Club Assistants to support the day-to-day organisation and delivery of our after-school provision. The role will involve providing high standards of care, supervision and play opportunities for children aged 4-11 in a safe, secure and stimulating environment. The successful candidate will help create an inclusive setting where children can engage positively in activities that support their social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities
- The postholder will assist with the planning, preparation and delivery of structured and unstructured play activities that meet children’s individual developmental needs.
- They will work directly with children to support participation, positive engagement and appropriate behaviour, following school policies and procedures.
- The role will also include supervising children’s movement to and from the club, supporting setup and clearing away of resources, using play equipment safely and reporting any concerns to the Club Supervisor or School Business Manager.
The Ideal Candidate
- The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children aged 4-11 and an understanding of good quality childcare.
- They will be reliable, responsible and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- They will have good interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to organise time effectively and a proactive, flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and a First Aid certificate are required.
