As a Partner on our service counters, you will demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while proudly promoting ethically sourced produce. You will build lasting relationships with customers, ensuring a positive impression of the Waitrose brand and driving sales and profit. In addition to contractual pay, any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 will attract Night Premium at a rate of £3.75 per hour. Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for your food counter, maintaining the highest presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Stay on top of stock levels to ensure products are available when needed.
  • Handle open food with care, following all due diligence and health & safety protocols to reduce food wastage.
  • Maintain knowledge of new products and understand Waitrose’s food values, including animal welfare.
  • Support the wider shop team when required with general shopkeeping tasks.

Essential skills/experience

  • Strong communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with customers.

Desirable skills/experience

  • Experience in a customer‑facing role.
  • Experience in a catering or hospitality environment.
  • Up to date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
  • Flexible approach to support the whole branch.

Employment Details

  • Pay: £13.00 (£13.25 after 90 days)
  • Contract Type: Temporary
  • Hours of Work: 22.5 hours of part‑time work across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings, weekends and Sunday (07:00 – 21:00).
  • Job Level: Partnership Level 10
