As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner‑led service right to our customers’ doors. You will actively play out our ethos – passionate Partners serving food lovers. When you are not on the road, you will be back at the shop supporting the team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and productive running of the shop in a friendly and welcoming environment.

In addition to your contractual pay, any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 will attract a Night Premium of £3.75 per hour, also applying to existing Partners enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements. 18‑year‑olds or older are required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Check your delivery routes for the day.
  • Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered to customers.
  • Ensure all vehicle safety checks are complete, maintaining full road compliance, health and safety.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand while on the road with great customer service as your number one priority.
  • Help customers with their shopping, building rapport based on trust and service.
  • Support the wider shop team with general shop‑keeping tasks when required.
Essential skills and experience
  • Full valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than six points.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Time‑management skills.
  • Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g. lifting crates, moving cages).
  • Comfortable working independently, self‑motivated and adaptable.
  • IT literate.
Desirable skills and experience
  • Previous driving role experience and knowledge of chilled vehicles.

Pay: £14.31 hourly. Contract type: Temporary. Hours of work: 15 hours a week, working two days a week, primarily Friday and Sunday but not exclusively, between 06:00 and 21:30. Job level: Partnership Level 10.

Location: Wilmslow (Waitrose & Partners), Church Street, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 1AY.

Pre‑employment vetting may be required, including DBS checks for successful candidates. If required, you will be informed and given information about vetting during the recruitment process.
