About the Role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner‑led service right to our customers’ doors. You will also support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping. Any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 will attract a night premium of £3.75 per hour. You must be at least 18 years old.
Key Responsibilities
- Check your delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
- Ensure all vehicle safety checks are complete and maintain full road compliance and health and safety standards.
- Represent the Waitrose brand on the road and provide excellent customer service as your number one priority.
- Help customers with their shopping and build rapport with them based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team when required with general shopkeeping tasks.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Full valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong time‑management skills.
- Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g. lifting crates, moving cages).
- Comfortable working independently with self‑motivation and adaptability.
- IT literacy.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles.
