About the Role
As a Supermarket Assistant, you'll help our difference be felt by our customers on every visit, providing the Partner‑led service and passion for food that our competitors can’t match. Your drive to go the extra mile will shape the impression our customers have of the Waitrose brand and keep them returning again and again, earning their trust and loyalty for a lifetime.
As a Delivery Service Ambassador you’ll also ensure that e‑commerce operations in the shop (e.g. Deliveroo and online customer orders) run effectively and smoothly. You will train Partners on these operations.
In addition to your contractual pay, any time worked between 22:00 – 06:00 will attract a Night Premium of £3.75 per hour. This applies to existing Partners enrolled in Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock replenishment – keep shelves full and products properly placed.
- Fulfil online customer orders for delivery drivers.
- Reduce wastage by managing due‑date products and markdowns.
- Support the wider shop team as needed, including checkout support, Click & Collect orders, on‑demand customer orders, and more.
- Maintain a safe, tidy working environment with general shop‑keeping tasks.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Communication skills to work effectively with team and customers.
- Must be 18 years or older and hold a full, valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Experience in a customer‑facing role.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
- Flexible approach to support the whole branch.

- Pay: £14.31 per hour
- Contract type: Permanent
- Hours of work: Part‑time, 16.5 hours per week (early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends).
