Engineering Senior Lead Analyst – Product Engineer (PL6)

About the Role

Hybrid working role, primarily split between working from home in the UK and the London & Bracknell Head Office.

Expect to travel to other locations as required.

The Engineering team works from the office roughly twice a week to connect and attend key meetings on an ad‑hoc basis.

This role is permanent.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a key member of the Architecture & Engineering profession across the entire project lifecycle, from discovery and shaping to build and implementation.

Work closely with Product Managers, Project Managers, Delivery Leads, Architects and Senior Engineers to ensure technical solutions align with business and operational objectives.

Lead delivery of complex projects across multiple work streams, using Agile, Waterfall or hybrid approaches, and act as an embedded contributor within a specific workstream or team.

Elicit and manage business, technical and operational requirements across a complex domain, challenge scope and priorities for optimal business value, and collaborate with delivery teams on planning, prioritisation and estimation.

Collaborate and share best practice within the Analysis community, support other Analysts, and potentially lead a team of Analysts and Engineers.

Maintain a strong stakeholder‑management focus and continuously improve skills and knowledge of emerging technologies.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience delivering and supporting technical solutions in an IT Delivery and Operations environment.
  • Proven delivery of change initiatives in a cross‑functional product team.
  • Experience delivering complex technology projects that span multiple business and technology teams.
  • Proactive, autonomous with leadership skills to drive analysis from concept to completion.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mind and outstanding problem‑solving skills.
  • Passion for innovation and change with demonstrable delivery of innovative change or disruptive thinking.
  • Track record of extensive stakeholder management with senior business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience using a range of requirement elicitation techniques and selecting the most effective technique for each programme or project.
  • Experience visualising complex problems using models to build common understanding among stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, confident in running workshops for large diverse audiences.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Significant Retail IT Delivery and Operations experience in a Lean & Agile environment.
  • Domain‑Driven Design techniques such as Event Storming and Domain Modelling.
  • BDD techniques such as Feature Injection and Story Mapping.
  • Value Chain Analysis and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Certifications such as IIBA or BCS Diploma in Analysis.
  • Current awareness of trends and shifts in technology and retail.
  • Growth mindset, viewing challenges as opportunities for continuous learning and professional development.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary range: £62,900.00 – £115,000.00 per annum.
  • Contract type: Permanent.
  • Hours of work: 35 hours Monday – Friday.
  • Job level: Partnership Level 6.
