As a Supermarket Assistant, you will help deliver a high level of customer service and food passion that supports the Waitrose brand. Roles involve partner-led service, working with the team to maintain shop operations and a safe, tidy environment.
Pay note: any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 attracts a Night Premium of £3.75 per hour. This applies to existing Partners enrolled on Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements. Applicants must be 18 years or older to apply.
Responsibilities
- Stock replenishment: keep shelves full and products in the right place at the right time for customers.
- Fulfilling online customer orders for delivery to customers’ doors.
- Reducing wastage by following product due diligence and applying markdowns to items nearing their sell-by dates.
- Collaborating with the wider shop team to support operations, including checkout support, managing Click & Collect orders, fulfilling on-demand orders, and more.
- Maintain a safe and tidy working environment with general shopkeeping tasks.
Qualifications
- Essential: Strong communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with customers.
- Desirable: Experience in a customer-facing role; up-to-date knowledge and interest in food and drink trends; flexible approach to support the whole branch.

- Hours of Work: 26 hours per week, including Sunday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday 01:00 - 07:00.
