As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and partner‑led service right to our customers’ doors. You will support the team with daily shop tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, ensuring a friendly and welcoming environment. In addition to your contractual pay, nights between 22:00 and 06:00 will attract a night premium of £3.75 per hour. You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Check your delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered to customers.
- Complete all required vehicle safety checks and maintain full road compliance, health and safety.
- Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand, delivering outstanding customer service.
- Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team with general shop‑keeping tasks when required.
Essential skills/experience
- Full valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong time‑management skills.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role (e.g. lifting crates, moving cages).
- Comfortable working independently, self‑motivated and adaptable.
- IT literate.
Desirable skills/experience
- Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles would be welcomed.
Pay: £14.31 per hour, plus night premium of £3.75 per hour for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00.
Hours of Work: 15 hours per week, Mondays and Fridays 13:30–21:45.
Location: Norwich (Waitrose & Partners), Eaton Centre, Norwich, Norfolk, NR4 6NU.
