As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring Waitrose produce with Partner-led service to customers’ doors. You’ll contribute to a friendly, welcoming shop environment, supporting the team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping when not on deliveries. Night Premium applies for hours between 22:00 and 06:00 at £3.75 per hour, including for existing Partners enrolled on Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements. You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Responsibilities
- Check delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring orders are together for efficient delivery directly to customers.
- Complete vehicle safety checks, maintain road compliance, and adhere to health and safety requirements.
- Represent the Waitrose brand on the road with a strong focus on customer service.
- Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills/experience
- Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Able to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g., lifting of crates, moving cages).
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and adaptable.
- IT literate.
Desirable skills/experience
- Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles would be welcomed.
