About the role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll be delivering high‑quality Waitrose produce and Partner‑led service directly to customers’ doors. You will also support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, helping to keep the shop running efficiently and welcomingly. Any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 will attract a Night Premium of £3.75 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Check delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are grouped for efficient delivery.
- Carry out vehicle safety checks and maintain full road, health and safety compliance.
- Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand while providing excellent customer service.
- Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills & experience
- Full valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong time‑management skills.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role (e.g., lifting crates, moving cages).
- Comfortable working independently, self‑motivated and adaptable.
- IT literate.
Desirable skills & experience
- Previous driving experience, especially with chilled vehicles.
Age requirement: 18 years or older.
Contract type: Permanent – Part time (22.5 hours per week) across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends.
