As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring Waitrose produce and Partner-led service to customers’ doors. When not out on the road, you’ll support the shop with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and welcoming running of the shop. Night premium of £3.75 per hour applies for time worked between 22:00 and 06:00, including Partners enrolled on Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements. You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Check delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring orders are together and ready for direct delivery to customers.
- Complete appropriate vehicle safety checks and maintain road compliance and health and safety.
- Be an ambassador for the Waitrose brand with a customer-first approach to service.
- Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks as required.
Essential skills/experience
- Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Great customer service skills.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g., lifting of crates, moving cages).
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and adaptable.
- IT literate.
Desirable skills/experience
- Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles.
