About the Role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner‑led service right to our customers’ doors. You will build on our ethos – passionate Partners serving food lovers. When you’re not out on the road, you’ll be back at the shop supporting the team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to an efficient and welcoming shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Check your delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
- Perform all vehicle safety checks, maintaining full road compliance, health and safety.
- Serve as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand while on the road, putting great customer service first.
- Help customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team when required with general shop‑keeping tasks.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Full valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Great customer service skills.
- Time‑management skills.
- Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g. lifting crates, moving cages).
- Comfortable working independently with the ability to be self‑motivated and adaptable.
- IT literate.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles.
Remuneration and Working Hours
- Pay: £14.31 per hour. Any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 will attract a Night Premium of £3.75 per hour, which also applies to existing Partners enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
- Hours: Varied part‑time hours across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends.
- Contract type: Temporary.
