As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring Waitrose produce and Partner-led service to customers’ doors. You will support the shop team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to an efficient and friendly working environment.
Night Premium: any time worked between 22:00 – 06:00 will attract £3.75 per hour, including for existing Partners enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements. You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Check delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare the van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
- Complete appropriate vehicle safety checks, maintaining full road safety and health and safety compliance.
- Represent the Waitrose brand on the road with exceptional customer service as a priority.
- Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Qualifications:
- Essential: Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good time management.
- Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g., lifting crates, moving cages).
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and adaptable.
- IT literate.
- Desirable: Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles is welcomed.
