Overview
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring a unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service right to our customers’ doors.
You’ll support the shop team with daily tasks when not on the road, contributing to the efficient and friendly running of the store.
A Night Premium of £3.75 per hour applies to any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00, including existing Partners enrolled on Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Check delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together for efficient delivery to customers.
- Complete the appropriate vehicle safety checks and maintain road compliance and health and safety standards.
- Represent the Waitrose brand on the road with exceptional customer service as the priority.
- Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills / experience
- Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Excellent customer service and time management skills.
- Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e. g., lifting crates, moving cages).
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and adaptable.
- IT literate.
Desirable skills / experience
- Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles.
