As one of our Installation Specialists based in a Customer Delivery Hub, you will bring John Lewis's distinctive service straight to customers' doors. You will install products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems and TV sets as part of a 2‑person delivery crew, driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.
In addition to your contractual pay, evening hours (18:00‑22:00) attract an Evening Premium of £3.25 per hour, and night hours (22:00‑06:00) attract a Night Premium of £4.25 per hour. This also applies to existing Partners enrolled in Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
You must be at least 18 years old and meet all driving licence and safety requirements. The role involves heavy lifting – you will frequently deliver large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, beds and mattresses.
Key Responsibilities- Act as an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with exceptional customer service.
- Load the lorry with the day's deliveries, working alongside the warehouse team.
- Show respect and courtesy for customers' homes and handle unexpected situations to find the best solution.
- Install products efficiently and quickly, demonstrating their use once installed.
- Keep up to date with new products and technologies to perform at your best.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Previous experience of installation, supported by our installer accreditation programme.
- Manual C1 UK driving licence (maximum of 6 points).
- DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) or Driver Qualification Card by first day.
- Tachograph Card.
- Previous experience driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.
- Previous customer‑facing experience.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
- Good understanding of technology.
- Installation and disconnection of white goods.
- TV installation.
- Assembly of flat‑pack furniture.
Pay: £29,500.00 – £41,100.00 per annum
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Schedule – 4 days per week with a 5‑week rota; Monday‑Saturday 06:00‑17:00
