Overview
The Own Brand Systems Product Owner leads the technical product ownership of the systems used in the Own Brand function (including WPP and Bazaar Voice).
You will drive cross‑functional teams to deliver data products, own the product strategy and roadmap, and manage third‑party vendors and stakeholders.
You will be the primary bridge between the business and the Tech & Change (IT) programme, ensuring governance and trustworthy data for reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Own the technical product ownership of Own Brand systems, including key platforms such as WPP and Bazaar Voice.
- Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver Partnership Data Products and end‑to‑end value for the business.
- Define and own the Product vision, strategy, and roadmap; prioritise backlogs to meet business goals and user needs.
- Engage with third‑party vendors and external stakeholders to deliver strategic technical priorities.
- Manage all elements of system implementations, including risk assessment, system updates, UAT, glossary management, and issue resolution.
- Act as the primary link between the business and the Tech & Change programme, managing data sources and governance to deliver trustworthy data for reporting.
Essential skills / experience
- Ability to define product vision, roadmaps, and backlogs that prioritise user needs and business goals.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Data‑driven decision making with metrics to measure product performance and guide continuous improvement.
- Analytical and critical thinking with data manipulation skills (Tableau and Tableau Prep, Google Sheets & Scripts, SQL, Excel); strong attention to detail; knowledge of Snowflake is beneficial.
- Knowledge of complex data systems and big data; strong problem solving and tenacity in resolving data issues.
Desirable skills / experience
- Experience in systems implementation management.
- Commercial retail understanding / awareness.
- Good working understanding of SQL with regular query writing experience.
- People management experience leading a high‑performing team.
About the role and location
Location: Bracknell Head Office, Bracknell Campus, Doncastle Road, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12 8YA.
Contract type: Permanent. Working pattern: hybrid (3–4 days in the office per week, with flexibility).
Salary: £53,000 – £78,000 per year. Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Interviews: typically a 1‑stage process in person at Bracknell campus from 5 August onwards.
