About the Role
As a Vehicle Technician, you will repair and maintain our fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring they meet VOSA and Partnership standards. You will work with experienced technicians, use the tools provided, and have opportunities to develop your knowledge and progress your career.
Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled repair and maintenance of the on-site e-commerce light commercial fleet.
- Repair and maintain outlying commercial and light commercial vehicles for John Lewis and Waitrose branches and CDHs.
- Apply best practices and current commercial vehicle repair techniques to deliver high-quality, cost-effective repairs.
- Use spare parts and consumables efficiently, ensuring work quality is maintained.
- Support the development of apprentices within the workshop, sharing knowledge and experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- City and Guilds Level 1, 2 and 3 Vehicle Technician or equivalent qualification.
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
- Proven background in commercial vehicle repairs.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness.
- Optional qualifications: MOT Testing, Class 4 & 7 IRTEC, LGV C+E Driving Licence, EV experience.
Compensation & Working Hours
- Salary up to £55,000 per annum, commensurate with skills and experience.
- Night premium (£4.25/hour) for 22:00‑06:00 and evening premium (£3.25/hour) for 18:00‑22:00.
- Full-time role: 37.5 hours per week on a 2-week rota. Day shift one Saturday every two weeks at premium overtime rate.
- Week 1: Monday‑Friday 06:00‑14:00; Week 2: Monday‑Friday 14:00‑22:00.
