As a Supermarket Assistant, you will help people enjoy a great shopping experience by providing partner‑led service and passion for food. Your dedication will help keep Waitrose customers returning, earning their trust and loyalty.

Working Conditions

  • Contract: Temporary
  • Hours: Varied, full‑time (37.5 hours per week) across seven days, including weekends. Shift times 21:00‑07:00.
  • Pay: £13.00 per hour (£13.25 after 90 days). Night premium of £3.75 per hour for 22:00‑06:00.
  • Location: Banbury (Waitrose & Partners), Southam Road, Banbury, Oxfordshire, OX16 2FW.

Responsibilities

  • Stock replenishment to ensure shelves remain full and products are correctly placed.
  • Fulfil online customer orders for driver delivery.
  • Reduce wastage through product due diligence and markdowns.
  • Support the shop team with checkout duties, Click & Collect orders, on‑demand orders, and other tasks.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Effective communication to work with team members and customers.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Previous customer‑facing retail experience.
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
  • Flexible approach to support the entire branch.
