As the UK's most successful omni-channel retailer, ecommerce is a key part of our business. We run two of the busiest websites in the UK, driving a significant proportion of our sales. Our engineering practice includes 80+ teams tackling complex challenges across the retail value chain. You have the opportunity to gain exposure to key business domains including Supply Chain & Logistics, Customer Insight, Pricing & Promotions, Ecommerce, and Financial Services products. Flexible Working: This is a hybrid working role, with time split between working from home (in the UK) and London Head Office / Bracknell Head Office. There may be a need to visit other locations as required. Our Engineering team currently works from the office roughly twice a week to connect, with more ad-hoc meetings as needed.

Your team: As a Lead Analyst, you'll be integrated into a dynamic, cross-functional team structure, which may be organised around a specific Product. These teams are built for end-to-end ownership, bringing together diverse expertise to solve complex challenges. You will collaborate closely with key roles such as a Product Manager, Delivery Lead, Software Engineers and Quality Engineers to drive rapid iteration, shared accountability, and measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities: As an Engineering Analyst you will be an integral member of the Architecture & Engineering profession. You will work throughout the project lifecycle—from discovery and shaping to build and implementation—collaborating with Product Managers, Project Managers, Delivery Leads, Architects, and other Engineers to ensure solutions align with business and operational objectives.

  • Enabling the successful delivery of change by translating complex business needs into technical specifications and identifying cross-team dependencies while using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
  • Elicit and manage business, technical and operational requirements; challenge scope and priorities to maximise business value; understand end-to-end processes and coordinate with delivery teams on planning, prioritisation, and estimation.
  • Collaborate and share within the Analysis community; support other Analysts. Work with a diverse range of stakeholders requiring strong communication skills and stakeholder management.
  • There are opportunities to become a people manager for Analysts and Engineers if this aligns with your interests.
  • Learn new skills continuously. Analysts are expected to improve their skills and stay current with technologies and techniques, with resources and support provided to aid your learning journey.

The advertised Lead Analyst role is internally titled Product Engineer (PL6).

Essential skills / experience you'll need:

  • Experience delivering and supporting technical solutions in an IT Delivery and Operations Environment.
  • Proven experience delivering both business and technical change initiatives in a cross-functional Product team.
  • Proactive and autonomous, with leadership skills to drive analysis from concept through to completion.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • A clear passion for innovation and change with evidence of delivering innovative change.
  • Proven track record of extensive stakeholder management with senior business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience using a range of requirement elicitation techniques and selecting techniques suitable for different programmes/projects/product teams.
  • Thrives in a technical environment; experience visualising complex problems to build common understanding among stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; confident in presenting and running workshops to diverse audiences.

Desirable skills / experience you may have:

  • Experience of Retail IT Delivery and Operations in a Lean & Agile Environment.
  • BDD techniques such as Feature Injection and Story Mapping.
  • Domain Driven Design techniques such as Event Storming and Domain Modelling.
  • Certifications (e.g. IIBA, BCS Diploma in Analysis).
  • Maintain current awareness of trends and shifts in technology and retail, applying this knowledge to relevant contexts.
  • Possess a growth mindset, viewing challenges as opportunities for continuous learning.
