As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you will bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and partner‑led service right to our customers’ doors, upholding our ethos of passionate partners serving food lovers. When you’re not on the road you’ll support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, helping to keep the shop running efficiently and welcoming.
Any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 will attract a night premium of £3.75 per hour, in addition to your contractual pay. This also applies to partners enrolled in Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements. Applicants must be 18 years or older.
Key Responsibilities
- Check delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare the van, ensuring all orders are together and can be delivered efficiently.
- Perform vehicle safety checks and maintain road compliance, health and safety standards.
- Serve as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand, delivering outstanding customer service.
- Assist customers while building rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Qualifications
- Full valid B‑category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong time‑management skills.
- Physical ability to lift crates and move cages.
- Ability to work independently, stay self‑motivated and adapt to changing circumstances.
- IT literate.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Previous driving role experience.
- Knowledge of chilled vehicles is welcomed.
