About the Role
As a Vehicle Technician in one of our workshops, you’ll mostly be repairing and maintaining our fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring they are safe and roadworthy to both VOSA and Partnership standards.

- Salary: Up to £55,000, depending on skills and experience. Overtime readily available.
- Working Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 07:00–15:00. Flexibility as required.
- Contract type: Permanent.
- Location: South Central (Customer Delivery Hub), Southampton.
- A fully equipped van with workshop tooling business vehicle will be available to travel to required sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled repair and maintenance of the on‑site e‑commerce light commercial fleet.
- Repair and maintain outlying commercial and light commercial vehicles for John Lewis and Waitrose branches and Customer Delivery Hubs.
- Ensure all relevant inspection/service, job cards and defect documentation is filled in correctly and signed off in accordance with operator licence conditions and DVSA guidelines.
- Be conversant with IT systems such as Key2, Service Rapido and relevant vehicle truck and van diagnostic systems.
- Adhere to health and safety measures on site and roadside.
- Attend breakdowns remote from the centre of operations safely and responsibly, observing lone working guidelines.
- Take ownership of personal and technical development with support and guidance from team leaders.
- Participate and provide input towards continuous improvement of the department such as best working practices and safe use of equipment.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for technical improvement of the fleet.
- Liaise with and support peers by sharing information.
- Attend manufacturer technical training updates.
- Keep abreast of new developments within the commercial vehicle repair industry.
- Ensure that the work area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Account for your own time; be proactive and efficient when working within the workshop.
- Work as part of the team and assist others where required.
Essential Experience / Qualifications Required
- City and Guilds Level 3 Vehicle Technician or equivalent qualifications.
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- Proven background in transport commercial vehicle repairs.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness.
Desirable Skills
- IRTEC.
- LGV C+E driving licence.
- EV experience.
