We have an exciting opportunity to join John Lewis as a Social Media Manager, reporting into our Social Senior Manager, working closely with the Fashion Category, Brand, and Retail Media teams.

  • Salary: £42,700 – £64,000

  • Expected salary: £52,000

  • Contract type: 12 month Secondment/Fixed Term – to March 2026

  • Interviews: virtual w/c 17th March

  • Location: London, Pimlico based with hybrid working with the expectation to come into the office around 1-2 days per week (minimum once a month)

In this role, you will support the Senior Social Manager in delivering best-in-class paid social campaigns that align to the overall social media and retail media strategy.

The role will primarily focus on developing retail media/brand partnership campaigns with our suppliers, delivering fashion category ‘always on’ paid campaigns, and leading across wider brand and category paid social campaigns. The role will involve curating social-first campaigns across the Fashion category with opportunities to work across other category verticals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a series of fast-paced campaigns and initiatives, playing a fundamental position within the social team working with multiple stakeholders internally and externally, such as wider social media disciplines, category teams, brand and advertising, creative, comms, retail media, suppliers, agencies, and more.

This role will involve strategy development, briefing agencies, planning media and content, execution, optimizations, reporting, and measuring success. Reporting to the Senior Social Marketing Manager, you will undertake line management of a Senior Social Marketing Executive, and together you will work collaboratively to deliver campaigns effectively.

Essential skills you’ll need

  • Paid social campaign planning and activation – experience with building paid strategies, reviewing and responding to briefs, developing activation timelines and working across key social channels (Meta, Pinterest, X, Snapchat, and TikTok).

  • Creative thinking – familiar with platform best practices, delivering inspiring, relevant and native content. Leveraging formats and various content sources such as influencers to tell engaging stories and drive effective results.

  • Paid social – a strong level of understanding of planning and buying paid media across key social channels with experience running paid social campaigns. Demonstrated experience briefing media agencies, curating media plans, placement/platform-centric creative, optimization levers, and reporting against key metrics.

  • Insights, measurement, and reporting – experience with insight analysis, including using a variety of tools for social listening (e.g. Sprinklr) to help inform creative & media strategies and identifying trends and opportunities to turn insight into actionable plans. A successful candidate will take a test and learn approach to capture early competitive advantage and ensure robust hypotheses deliver insightful results. The candidate must be familiar with native platform reporting and metrics.

  • Multiple stakeholder management – strong levels of communication are required for presenting to, reporting to, and influencing multiple key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
