About the role: As a Section Manager in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you\’ll manage a team of Partners responsible for direct-to-customer deliveries, ensuring smooth supply chain operations and maintaining high customer service standards expected of the John Lewis brand.
You\’ll ensure all operations adhere to legal compliance and deliver operational KPIs/SLAs aligned with Partner, customer, and profit metrics.

Role Title: Customer Delivery Hub Section Manager
Positions available: 4 (2 Permanent, 2 Fixed Term for 7 months)
Hours of Work: Full Time, 37.5 hours/week, working Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday. Fixed term hours are 06:00 – 14:00; permanent positions include these hours. The other fixed term position is 14:00 – 22:00.
Location: Origin Park CDH
Salary: £36,400 – £57,600 annually, with a potential shift premium of 22.5% (£8,190 annually).
Key Responsibilities
- Planning operational resources with Partners and agency.
- Developing relationships with operational teams for effective communication.
- Monitoring KPIs for trends and continuous improvement.
- Managing driver requirements like dart tags, fuel cards, vehicle keys.
- Communicating daily with the transport planning team.
- Managing daily transport office operations.
This role requires flexibility, including out-of-hours responsibilities and being a key holder, with accountability for business continuity. Responsible conduct in line with CSR and waste management is essential.
